Exhibition Brochure
Industry Canada | The Tokyo Motor Show is a bi-annual event presented by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association. It is a comprehensive tradeshow that includes passenger cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles, parts, as well as machinery and tools. Exhibitors include governments, organizations, and auto companies from around the world. In 2007, Industry Canada was working with members of the Canadian auto industry who were exhibiting at the fall show. To help promote the Canadian auto industry, Industry Canada contracted Smith to produce this 28-page bilingual (English and Japanese) exhibition brochure that featured Canadian auto success stories and bios on Canadian companies exhibiting at the show. Smith incorporated the ‘Cars on the Brain’ program graphic that Industry Canada had created for the 2005 show. We wrote the success story text for the four profiled companies, coordinated and attended photo shoots on locations across Ontario. Smith designed and produced the brochure artwork, obtained the Japanese translation, and managed the printing. This brochure used a special metallic ink in the printing process which gave the cover and interior graphics a shimmering, car-like finish.
